President Joe Biden’s Amnesty Plan: Dangerous, Absurd

In a move that defies national security and common sense, President Joe Biden has announced a new policy that shields undocumented spouses of American citizens from deportation. This outrageous decision would protect around 500,000 immigrants who have entered and then stayed in our country illegally.

The president’s latest executive action is an absurd and blatant election-year ploy that panders to Latino voters while ignoring the actual consequences for U.S. citizens.

This policy was framed as a “commonsense fix” to keep families together — a farce. It’s a blatant, desperate attempt to secure votes in critical battleground states.

The White House’s claim that this action will benefit only those who are “paying taxes and contributing to our country” is hilarious. The policy undermines our immigration system’s integrity and rewards lawbreakers, sending the clear message that if you break the law and can stay in the U.S. long enough, you’ll eventually be rewarded.

What’s even more shocking is the leniency shown to those who should be deported for severe crimes. Only this week, Democrat Representative Pramila Jayapal from Washington and MSNBC host Joy Reid downplayed the unconscionable crime of an illegal immigrant allegedly raping a minor in New York City.

Twenty-five-year-old Ecuadorian national Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, allegedly tied up, gagged and then raped a 13-year-old girl in Queens Park. This monster had been ordered previously to leave the United States but remained because of lax enforcement of immigration laws.

During a live television appearance, Jayapal and Reid mocked the media coverage of this horrific crime, with Reid suggesting the focus of the conservative media on illegal immigration is part of the problem. Jayapal claimed concerns over illegal immigration are “fear-mongering.”

This dismissive attitude toward heinous, serious crimes committed by illegal migrants is a disgrace that shines the spotlight on the left’s complete disregard for the safety of U.S. citizens.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Wisconsin, former President Donald Trump rightly blasted the president’s executive action. If re-elected, he vowed to “rip up and throw out” the policy, referring to it as one of Joe Biden’s most destructive moves yet.

Donald Trump highlighted the ridiculousness of granting immediate green cards and fast-tracking citizenship to those who have chosen to break our laws. This isn’t about keeping families together but fundamentally transforming our electorate and undermining the rule of law.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson also condemned the announcement from the administration, calling it “granting amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens.” Johnson warned this policy would “incentivize more illegal immigration and endanger Americans.”

This isn’t fear-mongering. It’s a realistic assessment of the consequences of such a reckless policy.

The Biden administration insists it has been tough on unlawful border crossings and has worked hard to dismantle networks that smuggle people. However, this new policy undermines any claims of being tough on illegal migration.

By allowing spouses who are undocumented to stay and apply for permanent residency, Joe Biden is effectively encouraging additional illegal crossings.

The plan additionally includes provisions for undocumented immigrants to obtain work permits and for recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) with higher education degrees to receive work visas more rapidly. This is yet another example of the prioritization of the needs of illegal immigrants over those of U.S. citizens.

The hypocrisy is shocking. Although Biden claims to be securing the southern border, his administration is simultaneously opening it even wider.

Only a few weeks ago, Biden announced restrictions on seekers of asylum, authorizing Customs and Border Protection to shut down the border when daily crossings pass 2,500. However, he’s now rolling out the welcome rug for 500,000 spouses who are undocumented, in addition to 50,000 noncitizen children.

The policy is anticipated to face legal challenges; however, the damage it has done is already apparent.

It sends a message worldwide that America isn’t serious about enforcing immigration laws. It puts the lives of Americans at risk and encourages those who wish to exploit our system.
