RFK Jr.’s Progressive Pick for Running Mate, Nicole Shanahan, Will Doom Biden’s Re-Election Chances

While President Joe Biden—let’s be honest—and his team struggle to improve in the polls, Democrats are growing increasingly worried that third-party candidates will swing the election to former President Donald Trump.

As of Monday’s polling averages on RealClearPolitics, Trump held a popular-vote lead of 1.7%, a hypothetical one-on-one rematch.

However, Trump’s advantage increased to 2.3% in the current five-way race, which includes Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, and independents Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West.

Kennedy is potentially the most significant spoiler, drawing an average of 9.9% of the overall vote.

A Harris/Harvard poll released last week found Kennedy commanding as much as 15% of the electorate (West and Stein poll no higher than 2% each).

Kennedy’s candidacy initially struck a chord with some fringe Republicans and some independents drawn to his anti-vax message above his other policies, which are mostly indistinguishable from the typical Democratic line.

However, as Trump clinched the Republican nomination, Kennedy’s support was already beginning to track down more Dems concerned about Biden’s infirmity and age and the chaos at the southern border.

Tuesday, Kennedy made himself more lethal to Joe Biden by naming Nicole Shanahan, the divorced California tech investor and California attorney Nicole Shanahan, as his running mate.

Shanahan says she is “progressive through and through.” She is the radical-left ex-wife of Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, who divorced her after she was rumored to have an affair with Elon Musk (both Musk and Shanahan deny it).

Although Shanahan is a little-known political entity, she is rich, receiving a billion from her divorce from Brin.

For most of her adult life, Shanahan has contributed to progressive and radical-left candidates and causes that have brought California to ruin. She actively participated in its downfall, donating $700,000 to support Measure J, a criminal justice initiative that diverted local revenue and defunded law enforcement to “alternatives to incarceration.”

We all know how that turned out.

Shanahan gave $150,000 to support the 2020 bid by George Gascón for Los Angeles district attorney despite his terrible record doing the same job in San Francisco.

Gascón, who was funded by George Soros, a leftist billionaire and endorsed by Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and Gavin Newsom, proceeded to reduce criminal prosecutions and cash bail and refused to seek the death penalty in all eligible cases.

The tragic results have driven three recall initiatives to remove him.

If anyone were to think Shanahan is “independent,” she donated $25,000 to President Biden’s 2020 victory fund following initially supporting Marianne Williamson and Pete Buttigieg for that year’s Democrat nomination.

Shanahan donated $4 million this year to American Values 2024, RFK’s super PAC, which swiftly used it to pay most of the cost of the candidate’s cringe Super Bowl ad, Which used images from an ad for his uncle, John F. Kennedy’s successful 1960 presidential campaign — designed with the creative input from Shanahan, the plug outraged Democrats and RFK Jr’s resolve.

If Shanahan spends more, it could pave the way for her ticket to be on the ballot in all 50 states in November, likely costing Joe Biden millions of Democratic votes while virtually driving all potential GOP supporters and many independents into Trump’s camp.

Her spending of funds could also make Kennedy efficient in qualifying for presidential debates, making him the first third-party candidate to reach the stage on a national basis since Ross Perot in 1992.

Dem strategists increased their criticism of RFK Jr. even before naming Shanahan to the ticket. Biden’s campaign allegedly has a whole team devoted to disparaging him.

The Democratic National Committee filed a complaint against Kennedy’s campaign with the Federal Election Commission in February, alleging it illegally coordinated with Kennedy’s super PAC to guarantee his place on every state’s ballot.

Dozens of Kennedys posed on St. Patrick’s Day for a White House photo with Biden, a symbolic rejection of a close relative several have criticized for his dissenting views on public health.

Just before Kennedy’s announcement, a super PAC that is pro-Biden launched a website that featured integrated images of Trump and RFK Jr. and alleging the former is a racist, antisemitic, anti-science, homophobic, and a conspiracy theorist, in addition to a Republican stalking horse.

Now that RFK Jr. has a running mate who has massive personal resources, the Dems are doubling down on their efforts to smear him.

On a call hosted by the DNC of swing state elected Democrats held only hours after Tuesday’s announcement, attacked Kennedy as a Trump tool “drafted into this race by Donald Trump’s top supporters,” said Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis.

A California Representative, Robert Garcia, said he was “personally offended and just disgusted by his campaign” and urged Kennedy to drop out.

Even with the new buzz around his running mate, RFK Jr. is not likely to be elected. However, with Shanahan and her money on the ticket, Joe Biden doesn’t either.
