Shocking Video of Migrants Ripping Down Fence — Symbol of Everything Wrong with President Biden’s Policy

A video showing more than 100 illegal immigrants tearing aside barriers and charging past National Guard troops and into the U.S. near El Paso is shocking, but what is really alarming is what the public won’t see:

Almost all of those immigrants are being rewarded for their dislike of American sovereignty and assault on our troops by being released to work and live here indefinitely, but not forever.

The surge of migrants at the border that has been ongoing since President Joe Biden took office is just a slowed-down version of what the video shows.

In January, which was considered a “good month” at the Southern border under the current administration’s standards, 4,000 migrants illegally crossed daily. In December, it was 8,000 per day.

No consequences

Migrants are coming illegally because they face minimal, if any, consequences, as Jason Owens, Border Patrol Chief, made clear in a candid interview with CBS Thursday.

Owens explains, “Everything revolves around being able to deliver a consequence for an action that you don’t want a person to commit,” and the chief was clear about consequences he believes should be imposed on illegal immigrants: “jail time”; “being banned from being able to come back because [they] chose to go illegally; and deportation.

While a few migrants who assaulted soldiers and tore barriers down were arrested, the rest were “brought into the U.S. for processing,” which indicates they’ll answer a few questions and be released quickly, as more than 3.3 million others encountered at the border under the current administration have been.

Honestly, how much respect for the sovereignty of the United States can you believe those migrants to demonstrate with officials in the administration show so little of it?

Officials and the president ditched deterrence long ago as a border policy, allowing every illegal migrant who can make it over our border to apply for asylum despite the validity or strength of their claims.

Sovereignty no more

Owens is not alone in stating that consequences are crucial to border security. The concept isn’t new. Seven years ago, Congress directed the Department of Homeland Security to create a “Consequence Delivery System” for those who illegally enter.

It has been dead since Inauguration Day 2020, when one of the first acts of the new Biden Administration was to implement a 100-day “pause” on the removals of aliens, including aliens, for no other issue than Donald Trump was president when removal orders were issued.

The latest poll by Yahoo! News reveals a significant majority of Americans want deterrents and consequences at the border: Once a daily threshold is met, 62% of registered voters favor “shuttering the border;” 56% want a border wall, up from a 2019 Gallup poll which measured support for the wall at 40%; and 64% want to make it more straightforward to expel migrants.

Neither Congress nor the White House has gotten those messages. Still waiting.
